Before technical study begins, there's a
proper stage of physical training, which is varied and complete. This sort
of training aims at developing resistance, power, agility, flexibility,
action-reaction skills and tolerance to pain.
Techniques
Techniques are supposed to be studied
both separately and linked together in long sequences called kata. Each
sequence specializes on certain technical skills and on different kinds of
orientation in space. Particularly in katas you can study how energy flows
from one place to the other. There are 73:000 different techniques with or
without weapons (i.e.say, rekeyma sword, nunchkoo ), divided in different
levels of learning.
