The study of techniques and their application in fighting are actually a metaphor of the study on human soul. This is a saying of Kung Fu Toa: "Know yourself and you shall know God". Kung Fu is the way of knowledge, it is a manner to reach self-consciousness. The person we are fighting with is a mirror of our actions and reactions and therefore is a companion which helps us growing up. That's why fighting has two purposes: one is to reach the top level of efficiency and the other one is to face our fears. |

| Kung Fu Toa gets its inspiration from Zen philosophy. The Indian monk Bodhidarma, known to Chinese people as Daroma Tachi and to Japanese ones as Dao-mo, renounced to everything he had and went to China, where he taught meditation to Shaolin monks. The word "meditation" is written "dhyana" in Sanskrit, "chan" in Chinese, and "zen" in Japanese. The crossed-legs position to practice meditation is called zen-nay. Meditation's aim is to free one's brain from unwanted thoughts and to connect the individual with the universe. | |
| Physical development must be followed at
the same time by mental and spiritual development of the human being,
therefore studying scientific and humanistic disciplines is suggested to
the practitioner. In Sufi mystical theology there are two worlds: the knowable and the unknowable one. Kung Fu drives the practitioner through both of them. Kung Fu Toa is open to people of all ages, sexes, ethnic belonging, religion or political creed and supports the values of solidarity, respect and tolerance. |

TO'A “Thou, com'st!”. Come towards the Way of Enlightenment, on the Way of the Evolution, to reach physical and spiritual perfection. You, man, go over human history again, until the dawning of civilization, in the cradle of time and find back again your self-consciousness in the depth of your soul. Obtain, through sweat and hard work, the highest inner development, the passage from the darkness of ignorance to the knowledge of world and cosmos. Reach the quietness hidden in that fraction of a second in which you speed up your body and your thought beyond the limit of the highest speed. The interval between two zeroes, that is, between two moments of quietness, is the distance between you and me, and represents “infinity”. “You and I” become “we, together”, that is an eternal force, leaving the mark of the Absolute: human thought can thus reach the understanding of the material and of the immaterial world and the thoughts of the wise men from the past. It is an endless beginning, a culture with no time and place, bringing an understanding of the secrets of the world. To’A is the Way of the warrior, who knows pure love and pure hate and can choose between Good and Evil, thanks to the complete knowledge of his own potentialities. Know yourself, you will find your God. Recognize yourself! |
